Cadman Cranes is pleased to introduce the latest addition to our specialist lifting equipment: the Grip Lifting Glass-Maxx S600 glass vacuum lifter.

The Glass-Maxx S600 is a compact and adaptable vacuum lifter designed to handle glass panels weighing up to 600 kg. It can switch between spider and inline lifting configurations, offering flexibility for a wide variety of jobs, including curtain walls, conservatory glazing and walk-on glass installations.

The unit is lightweight (50 to 70 kg) and can be easily moved around site using a wheeled trolley, making setup and operation straightforward.

With 360-degree rotation, four locking positions, and adjustable angles for interior glazing, the S600 is a practical tool for precise handling. The remote control for suction and release adds an extra layer of safety and efficiency for our team.

Expanding Our Specialist Lifting Capabilities

Adding the Glass-Maxx S600 to our fleet means we can take on more specialist projects. Its adaptability and ease of use enable us to handle a broader range of tasks, from intricate interior glazing to large-scale exterior installations.

This investment aligns with our commitment to excellence in specialist lifting solutions and is another step forward in delivering reliable, professional services for our clients’ evolving needs.

Case Study: Walk-On Glass Replacement in Kensington

A recent project demonstrates the capability of our new Grip S600 Maxx vacuum lifter in action. Working for our client, Mark Christie of Christie Glass, we were tasked with replacing three glass panels in a private rear courtyard of a terraced property in Onslow Gardens, Kensington & Chelsea. The panels formed a ground floor skylight above a basement area.

Due to the tight access and central London location, the job required careful planning. We provided a full contract lift, which included arranging a full road closure, coordinating all traffic management requirements, securing permits, and working closely with both our TM supplier and the local council.

Each glass panel weighed 370 kg and was safely lifted into place using our 90t Liebherr mobile crane and the Grip S600 Maxx vacuum lifter. Our experienced team managed the lift efficiently, with Steve Mathias operating the crane, Richard Cattermole serving as Crane Supervisor, and James Duncan-Clarke acting as Slinger Signaller.

Mark Christie, Managing Director – Christie Glass

“Thank you Cadman Cranes. A fantastic job from organisation of road closure, to the crane lift on installation of the glass walk on floor. They have kept me informed throughout and the quality, efficiency and professionalism is second to none! I would not hesitate to recommend this company.”
