We may not be the largest business in our industry, but we are determined to be one of its strongest voices for positive change.
Turning commitment into measurable progress
We believe that Leading Sustainable Lifting must be supported by meaningful action and measurable results.
Since 2020, we have reduced our Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 97%, including a further 28% annual reduction during 2025. This enabled Cadman Cranes to become carbon neutral for our Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2025.
One of the biggest contributors to this progress has been our transition from conventional diesel to renewable HVO fuel across our cranes and support vehicles.
During 2025, we used 188,055 litres of HVO fuel, producing just 8,039kg of COâ‚‚e. The equivalent amount of conventional diesel would have generated approximately 567,769kg of COâ‚‚e, representing an emissions reduction of 98.6%.
Our progress also includes:
- Installing solar panels and improving the energy efficiency of our headquarters
- Introducing rainwater harvesting for vehicle washing and grey water use
- Sharing our knowledge to help other crane companies transition to renewable fuels
- Providing private healthcare for every member of our team
- Maintaining our commitment to donate 2% of annual profits to good causes
- Supporting local youth sports teams, charities and community projects
- Achieving Living Wage accreditation
- Receiving Gold accreditation under the Armed Forces Covenant
What’s next for Cadman Cranes?
Leading Sustainable Lifting means continuing to move forward. Throughout 2026, we are focusing on initiatives that will strengthen our environmental performance, support our people and increase our positive impact.
Our plans include purchasing our first electrically operated mobile crane, installing battery storage to make better use of the renewable energy generated at our headquarters and completing a detailed audit of our waste streams.
We will also engage more closely with our supply chain partners, improve drainage around our new washdown facility and continue strengthening our environmental, quality, and health and safety management systems through recognised ISO standards.
Alongside this, we are establishing a formal employee volunteering programme, developing partnerships with local good causes, delivering lifting awareness workshops for schools and colleges, and introducing enhanced employee benefits.
These initiatives represent the next stage of our journey, but they are not the final destination. We will continue to invest in emerging renewable technologies, challenge our supply chain to innovate and share our knowledge to encourage positive change across the lifting industry.
