Flagship 180-tonne mobile crane installs air conditioning units for Lidl Ipswich

Working for Atlas Industrial Removals Ltd, we attended the site of the new Lidl store on Futura Park in Ipswich to assist in the lifting of their new air conditioning units.

Putting our flagship crane through its paces and lifting at full ballast, our Liebherr LTM1160-5.2 mobile crane was perfect for this far reaching project at 52 meters. It’s one of the strongest cranes within its weight category worldwide and has an impressive lifting capacity of up to 180 tonnes. What do you make of that awesome boom deflection!?

The store, which is currently being constructed on the Nacton Road entrance, will replace the existing Lidl on the Ravenswood estate. Fun fact, this was actually one of the company’s smallest shops in the country! Staff will transfer from the existing shop, while the company expects the opening to create up to 10 new jobs.

A spokesman for Lidl said: “We are delighted to confirm that construction of our new Lidl store is well under way with the store due to open this Winter.

“Once opened, the new store will help to provide local residents in and around Ipswich with an even greater selection of Lidl’s high quality and affordable produce. “We look forward to sharing more information, including a precise opening date, with the local community closer to the time.”
