Cadman Cranes Sustainability Update – Spring 2025
Since 2021, we’ve been putting in the work and have transformed from sustainability beginners to industry leaders, making real, measurable progress in reducing our environmental impact and supporting our people and our community. What started as a commitment to simply do better has evolved into becoming the driving force behind everything we do. It’s no longer just about hitting targets, it’s about changing the way we think, operate, and influence the wider industry for the better.
Driving Real Change
We’ve made significant progress in reducing our carbon footprint. Since 2020, we’ve managed to cut our CO2e emissions by 96%, with a further 60% reduction in 2024. Our entire fleet now runs on Hydro-Treated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel, cutting emissions by 98.5% compared to diesel. We’ve also invested in solar power at our HQ, helping us generate clean, renewable energy to support our day-to-day operations.
Our Scope 1 & 2 operations are still on track for net zero in 2025, and we’re actively tracking Scope 3 emissions to understand our full environmental impact. We’re openly sharing our expertise with other crane companies in the effort to drive industry-wide change.
Our efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, and we were the proud winners of the Anglian Water Supplier Award 2024 for Carbon Neutrality.
What’s Next for 2025?
This year, we’re looking to tackle the final 25 tonnes of CO2e to get to net zero emissions and making our operations even more efficient. We’re upgrading our headquarters with solar-powered heating, better insulation, and a rainwater harvesting system to reduce waste and energy use and looking to get the rest of the way through targeted reductions and potential offset initiatives.
We’re also focusing on our people and communities. We’re creating green spaces at our crane yard, improving outdoor areas for our team, and committing 2% of our profits to local and national causes that matter to us.
