Cadman Cranes Continues Support for Local Youth Sports Teams
At Cadman Cranes, supporting local communities is one of our core values.
We have committed to donating 2% of our annual profits to local charities and good causes, helping support the people, organisations and initiatives that make our communities stronger. One area we’re particularly proud to support is grassroots sport.
This season, Cadman Cranes is sponsoring Camulos Academy Girls Team, Little Oakley U13s and Colchester Broncos U11s, helping provide kits and equipment for young players across the area.
We’re also proud to support girls’ football through our sponsorship of Camulos Academy Girls Team. Participation continues to grow rapidly, but many girls’ teams still receive less funding and support than their male counterparts.
These teams are all part of the communities where we live and work, making them especially meaningful for us to support. Over the years, we have also been proud to support local youth sports teams, including Stanway Rovers from under-13 level through to under-18s.

Why Local Sponsorship Matters
Most grassroots sports clubs are run entirely by volunteers. Coaches, organisers and committee members dedicate countless hours to creating opportunities for young people, often behind the scenes and without recognition.
While that commitment is freely given, there are still significant costs involved. Kits, equipment, training facilities, pitch maintenance, referees and administration all need funding.
Support from local businesses helps keep these clubs running and keeps participation affordable for families.
At Little Oakley, for example, children receive coaching, training, matches and kit provision for under £5 per week. Opportunities like this only remain possible because of the combined efforts of volunteers, parents and local sponsors.
More Than Just Sport
Youth sports clubs provide much more than somewhere to play. They give young people a positive environment where they can challenge themselves, work towards shared goals and be part of something bigger than themselves.
Regular training and competition provide structure, encourage commitment and create opportunities for personal development that can benefit young people throughout their lives.
Matt Waddingham, Managing Director of Cadman Cranes, said:
“Many of us have experienced first-hand the positive impact youth sports can have on a young person. Trying to achieve something as a team and failing or succeeding together is hugely beneficial for the development of young minds and very hard to simulate elsewhere.
“Grassroots and school football starts at six years old and continues right through to adulthood. The hard work of volunteers and the support of local businesses helps keep it incredibly affordable and accessible to children from all backgrounds. We couldn’t think of a better thing to support.”
Looking Ahead
As the season is now complete, attention turns to September and the start of another year of training, matches and development.
We look forward to continuing our support for Camulos Academy Girls Team, Little Oakley U13s and Colchester Broncos U11s, and we’d like to thank the coaches, volunteers, parents and organisers who make grassroots sport possible. Their commitment creates opportunities for young people and helps local communities thrive.
