Cadman Cranes Supports EACH’s Solar Panel Project to Drive Sustainability and Cost Savings
We were pleased to have the opportunity to support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) as part of a recent initiative to install solar panels across two of its hospice sites, helping the charity reduce energy costs and improve environmental sustainability.
The project was initiated by Sunlite Group, a family-run solar energy company based in Woodbridge. Operations Manager Tia Gooden, together with her sister Romi, led the fundraising efforts, ultimately raising £38,000 to fund solar installations at EACH’s Treehouse hospice in Ipswich and its site in Milton, Cambridgeshire. Their work included organising a charity ball and participating in a sponsored skydive, with additional support coming from suppliers, donors, and local businesses—including the donation of 149 solar panels from Segen.

These installations are expected to save EACH more than £146,000 over the next 20 years—£58,000 at The Treehouse and £88,000 at Milton. According to EACH’s senior corporate fundraiser, the impact of these savings will be significant, freeing up vital funds that can be redirected to front-line care for children and their families. The organisation also highlighted the long-term environmental benefits and praised Sunlite’s professionalism and commitment throughout the project.
As part of our broader community commitment, Cadman Cranes have pledged to donate up to 2% of our annual profits to local causes. This includes direct monetary support as well as collaboration with local organisations to provide equipment, services, and materials where needed.
We were particularly keen to support this initiative, not only because of the incredible care EACH provides to families in our region, but also because helping a much-loved charity become more energy independent while reducing its environmental footprint strongly aligns with our own values. Supporting sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the planet is a principle we are proud to stand behind.
